Craftsbury Schools and Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union are thrilled to announce that Sarah Hunt has been chosen as Craftsbury’s Interim Athletic and Activities Director. Drawing from her experience as a high school and college athlete, a former high school coach and teacher, and as a parent of a student-athlete at Craftsbury Schools, Hunt is well positioned and eager to embrace this new role.

“We are excited to bring Sarah Hunt to Craftsbury Academy as our new athletic director. She comes to us with exceptional high school experience as a coach and as a teacher. She is a Craftsbury parent, and she attended schools in our supervisory union. We are very happy to have someone with her educational and athletic experience to take on the athletic director position,” commented Principal Matt Foster.

Hunt grew up in Greensboro, Vermont, where she attended Lakeview Elementary and then Hazen Union Middle School. From there she went to Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, where she was a student-athlete on the soccer, swimming, and tennis teams. Hunt played one year of college soccer at Rollins College in Florida, and later received her degree from Westminster University (formerly Westminster College) in Salt Lake City, UT with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a minor in Spanish, coupled with a teaching certification in Secondary Education. Hunt taught history at a Division I school in Utah for eight years, coaching both the boys and the girls tennis teams. As a coach she experienced many successes, including a state team title, and multiple region championships. With a deep passion for sports, Hunt hopes that she can create ways to attract more students to participate in athletics and activities, as well as build and improve upon the programs that are already in place at Craftsbury.

Hunt lives with her son in Craftsbury, who is a seventh grade student at Craftsbury Academy. She enjoys paddleboarding, swimming, tennis, cooking, skiing, snowshoeing, and more. She wants to see the programs at the school thrive, not only for her own child, but for the greater community and the students at the school.

“I am so excited and honored to accept the position of Interim Athletic and Activities Director at Craftsbury Academy. I look forward to working collaboratively with the students, teachers, and parents in the community, and I hope to help grow the sports programs and activities at the school. Go Chargers!”, commented Hunt.
